A woman died after her car was swept off the highway and into a flooded creek in Kentucky, police said Friday.Authorities in Lee County received a call in the morning that a car had become submerged after heavy rains in the area.
A series of agencies joined the search for the car, including the Sheriff’s Office, EMS and Fire and Rescue.
“As the floodwaters receded, the vehicle was found submerged in the creek,” Kentucky State Police said.
“The vehicle was recovered and a female was found inside and pronounced deceased by the Lee County Coroner.”
A preliminary investigation indicates the woman was alone in the car.
