Police in Maryland have arrested a man suspected of shooting dead an ice cream truck driver while he served children.Larnell Lyles, 27, is being held on a first-degree murder charge for the killing of 22-year-old Brandon Brown.
Witnesses told police that Lyles approached Mr Brown on Saturday afternoon as the ice cream truck driver was selling treats to children in a subsidised housing neighbourhood in Frederick, Maryland.
Mr Brown had stepped out of his truck when he was approached by the suspect and shot in the chest, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A local resident told The Frederick News-Post she heard three shots.
Lieutenant Clark Pennington said witnesses identified Lyles as the gunman.
He was taken into custody early on Sunday.
