Georgia Resort Sea Island will host a special weekend for fans of the TV hit series Downtown Abbey, from Jan. 17-19. To celebrate the 4th season of the series (debuting Jan. 4 2014), the resort is inviting guests to enjoy Downtown Abbey-themed activities and events, as well as guest appearances by actor Allen Leechs— playing the character Tom Branson, former family chauffeur and widower of Lady Sybil, on the show —, and Jessica Fellowes, the bestselling author of books The World of Downtown Abbey and The Chronicles of Downtown Abbey.
The weekend will start out with an English pub quiz, held at the resorts Cloister Ballroom. Mr. Leech and Ms. Fellowes will act quizmasters, asking questions and sharing answers (along with some show secrets). Teams named after the show’s characters will compete for the honor of being the Sea Island Pub Quiz Champions.
On Saturday, Jan 18, guest can attend a Q&A with the Allen Leech and Jessica Fellowes, and on Sunday, the weekend will get to its peak with a costume party, cocktail reception, and “Downtown Abbey themed” dinner (period dress is encouraged!). After dinner, a screening of the latest Downtown Abbey episode will be held, and then, the weekend will end with cigars, port, music, and dancing at the after party. The dinner and after party is for ages 21 and over, and reservations are required for all the separate weekend events.
