Delta Air Lines confirmed Friday it will add two daily flights from Rochester to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport beginning April 1.

Spokeswoman Leslie P. Scott said those are in addition to the evening flight Delta now offers daily from the Greater Rochester International Airport to JFK.

Delta also added a fifth daily flight to New York’s LaGuardia Airport this fall, Scott said.

A news release from the office of Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., said the airline also will expand its service from Rochester to Minneapolis and Detroit next year. The release said Schumer met with Delta CEO Richard Anderson seeking the expanded service.
